CKMA Team Shines at the 2025 Nakamura Cup
What a weekend for our CKMA Team! We travelled all the way to Montreal to take part in the 2025 Nakamura Cup, one of the biggest Kyokushin events in North America. With over 50 dojos and more than 500 competitors, this tournament was a true test of spirit, skill, and perseverance. Our dojo represented WKB Canada with great success!

The Journey Begins
Our trip started with a 7-hour drive through heavy rain, but the team stayed positive and focused. A few of our competitors weren’t feeling their best, yet they still stepped onto the mats and gave everything they had. Their effort and determination truly paid off — we achieved one of our best results in years, bringing home 11 trophies out of 13 competitors!
Our Achievements
6 🥇 1st Place (5 competitors): Taras, Ahmet, Essad (Double 1st), Lillian, Robert
4 🥈 2nd Place (4 competitors): Max, Amy, Jag, Dwayne
2 🥉 3rd Place (2 competitors): Katy, Alexa
A big shout-out to Chris and Alexi, who didn’t place this time but fought with amazing spirit and courage. Every single member of the team made us proud.
Adventures on the Way Home
The drive home was another adventure — this time through snowfall and icy roads. There were many accidents along the way, but we all made it back safely, just before the extreme weather warning hit.
Looking Ahead
We couldn’t be happier with our results, and even more grateful that everyone is home safe. Now it’s time to rest, learn from the experience, and keep getting stronger.
Next stop — the 2026 Gold Cup in Montreal on March 14th!
Congratulations to everyone who represented CKMA and WKB Canada with pride and heart.
