YOUR KARATE - My first book is here

My First Book Is Here

After forty years on the mat, I've put something into writing that I've been carrying for a long time.

Your Karate: How to Make Karate Work for You

is now available, and I want to take a moment to share what this book is and why I wrote it — because I think that matters more than any description on a back cover.

My Journey

I started training in Romania in the mid-1980s, in a forest, with a small group of people who wanted this badly enough to seek it out in secret. Karate was illegal under Communism. We had no proper dojo, no qualified instructor, just a shared obsession and a handful of smuggled magazines. That's where it began for me — not out of necessity, not because someone pushed me toward it, but because from the very first time I encountered the martial arts, I knew this was something I wanted to spend my life on.

Lessons Learned

That path took me through competition across Europe and North America, and eventually to Canada, where I've been teaching for sixteen years. Along the way, certain lessons kept proving themselves true — about how to train intelligently, how to survive the hard seasons, and how to make this art fit your life rather than the other way around.

About the Book

This book is my attempt to share those lessons honestly. It isn't a technique manual. There are no step-by-step breakdowns of kicks and blocks. What it is, I hope, is a straightforward and useful conversation about what it actually takes to stay on this path for a lifetime — through injuries, plateaus, changing bodies, and everything else life puts in front of you.

A Note on Perspectives

I want to be clear about something. These are my experiences. Other instructors may approach things differently, and I respect that. Karate is a wide art and there is more than one way to walk it. But this is what forty years taught me, and I felt it was worth writing down and sharing with anyone who might find it useful.

For Everyone

Whether you are a longtime practitioner or someone who just started training, I hope something in these pages helps you. That's the only reason I wrote it.

Availability

Your Karate: How to Make Karate Work for You is available now on Amazon. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it serves you well on your journey.
