Report: 2026 KWU Senshi Gold Cup

Journey to the 2026 KWU Senshi Gold Cup in Montreal

On Saturday, March 14th, our team traveled to Montreal for the 2026 KWU Senshi Gold Cup. This was a historic event, marking the biggest Kyokushin competition ever held in North America with over 750 participants from 80 dojos.

We traveled with a team of 11 competitors, including children, teens, and adults. Our group was a mix of first-time competitors, those returning to the mats, and our regular tournament athletes. We competed in both Kata and Kumite divisions.

The Competition

The competition was very tough this year. Some divisions were quite large, with up to 25 competitors in a single bracket. Our team performed as expected, with some wins and some losses—but this is the true spirit of competition.

Official Results

  • Sumeyya: 1st Place (Women's Kumite) & 3rd Place (Women's Kata)

  • Robert: 3rd Place (Boys Kata)

  • Katie: 3rd Place (Girls Kata)

  • Thomas: 3rd Place (Boys Kumite)

The True Spirit of Competition

In the Dojo, we teach that you must learn to accept your results, learn from them, and improve. There is so much to be gained from competing, regardless of the outcome. The dedication, discipline, commitment, and experience gained are what really matter.

Looking Ahead

Overall, we satisfied with the results and are already looking forward to the next one.

Well done, CKMA - WKB Canada!
