2024 Breaking Seminar: The Art of Tameshiwari at CKMA Barrie Dojo
On October 25th, CKMA Barrie Dojo hosted the 2024 Breaking Seminar: The Art of Tameshiwari. It was a fantastic opportunity for students of all ages to learn and practice breaking techniques, and everyone had a great time!
Learning and Fun
Participants experienced breaking techniques for the first time, learning to break boards using Seiken, Shuto, Hiji, and Kakato. Each technique presented unique challenges, focusing on precision, control, and body mechanics.
Seiken: Straight punch emphasizing alignment and power.
Shuto: Knife-hand strike focusing on accuracy.
Hiji: Elbow strike teaching effective mechanics.
Kakato: Heel strike showcasing strength.
Highlights of the Seminar
The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as students cheered each other on while breaking boards. Many achieved their first successful breaks, fostering a sense of accomplishment and community.
