At Contact Kicks we teach Karate Kyokushin founded by Masutatsu Oyama 10th Dan and we are an IFK ( International Federation of Karate ) Hanshi Steve Arneil 10th Dan affiliate.
Karate is whole body training, and it works on both the body and the mind. It develops both the left and right side of the body, and therefore the brain too. It can also help in recovery after injuries or illness by strengthening the body and keeping a positive and focused mind set.
Kyokushin karate encourages and develops an attitude of perseverance and determination. These personal attributes developed through karate training can also be used in daily life.

Kickboxing it is a combat sport and was invented in Japan to compete with Muay Thai. The sport, a derivative of boxing, karate, and other fighting styles, bears many similarities to boxing except the fighters use fists, arms and legs for strikes.
At Contact Kicks Martial Arts we practice semi and full-contact kickboxing K-1 style. The hand techniques are modified boxing strikes and the kicks are based on kyokushin karate. We also practice drills at the pads and shields, partner workout and heavy bag workout based on the Dutch numbers system. We incorporate the discipline and "The Spirit of Osu" (The Spirit of Perseverance) from Kyokushin Karate. Osu it means to Never Give Up and it is the core of our philosophy.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or BJJ is a combat sport, martial art, and efficient, effective self-defense system that focuses on ground fighting. The objective is to neutralize and control a much larger opponent with leverage and technique, rather than strength.
The Gracie family, the founders of BJJ, modified judo and traditional Japanese jujutsu to create the art. It contains stand-up maneuvers, but it is most famous for its devastating ground-fighting techniques. Gaining superior positioning so one can apply the style's numerous chokes, holds, locks and joint manipulations on an opponent is the key in BJJ.
