Karate Kyokushin at CKMA

Karate is whole body training, and it works on both the body and the mind. It develops both the left and right side of the body, and therefore the brain too. It can also help in recovery after injuries or illness by strengthening the body and keeping a positive and focused mind set.

Kyokushin karate encourages and develops an attitude of perseverance and determination. These personal attributes developed through karate training can also be used in daily life.

In Kyokushin Karate the focus is on the full-contact aspect of fighting.

Whatever your reasons and goals are, practicing Karate can help you become stronger, healthier and a better human being.

Why Karate Kyokushin ?

Kyokushin Karate is more than just a martial art for self-defence; it is Budō Karate and encompasses an entire system of well being for the individual and teaches skills and attitudes that will last a lifetime. Positives of the training include; discipline, respect, exercise regimen, confidence and a social atmosphere.

The classes are very structured and beginners are welcomed, and regardless of age, sex and physical capabilities, anyone can start training in Kyokushin Karate and enjoy it.

There is a thorough syllabus for your advancement through grades and your progress and skill acquisition is monitored to allow people to learn at their own pace. To that end, the IFK has developed a systematic grading syllabus to enable the individual to strive for the same level of excellence.

Read what our students have to say about our classes and instructors :

We really lucked-out in finding this place for our kids. Sensei Steve does not give "participation trophies" and makes everyone deserve their achievements. Our kids come home physically tired, but excited about what they did during practice.
Also, we appreciate immensely the teachings and requirements for everyone, like keep your gi clean, show respect for others, understand that you advance through hard work and don't get a free ride.
